The Month of January in Review
I feel as though a common question that pops up this month is “Whatcha been up to?”. I cannot count how many times people have asked me, but I know it’s more than thirty - which is a lot!
Most often my answer is, “Oh, not much…” and if it’s not that it’s “Same ol’, you know…”
But really, if you must know, I’ve probably been spending the time since I last saw you in the bath reading, laying on my couch watching Kids in the Hall, sleeping (all of those being accompanied by Lemmy, the faithful boyfriend/handsome man of a cat), out eating dinner with someone, or walking around/riding the bus looking at buildings.
Basically, if I’m not working, I’m hanging out.
Overall I would rate January a four out of ten. In fraction form it would be 4/10.
It was less than good, but not bad, exactly.
The biggest realization I’ve had with all of this alone time is that I have less friends than I used to, which either means nobody likes me, or that I’m a bit of a loner. I’m going with the latter.
Also, January is the least creative month. I walk around with my camera and I see not a thing that asks me to be photographed. Everything my mind sees is grey, even that red staircase I love so much doesn’t pop out as I walk by…
On the positive, in a day it’s February - which means we are half way through the bad months (January/February)! Before we know it we’ll be at John Roger’s park having a picnic and watching the sun set.
And one more thing: I start working at the GI Tap Room on Monday.
Olympic Tourists: You Don’t Know What You’re In For.
I’m going to be serving seven days a week for a month.
I’m going to hate the human kind.
